Caledonian, one of the UK’s leading offsite and modular building specialists, has successfully achieved company-wide Level 2 BIM capability verification, in accordance with PAS 1192-2 from BSI.

BSI carried out a rigorous assessment of Caledonian in relation to its BIM capability and policy as outlined in PAS 1192-2:2013 and PAS 91.

Achieving a successful BIM assessment from BSI demonstrates Caledonian’s commitment to embracing technology as part of its collaborative delivery of projects as a Tier 1 designer, manufacturer and contractor of offsite solutions using digital construction techniques.

Caledonian will now be able to use BIM to capture, share and manage data and 3D images centrally – Level 2 BIM is distinguished by collaborative working using digital technologies.  These technologies allow for more efficient methods of designing, delivering and maintaining built assets throughout their entire lifecycle as well as allowing effective collaboration with clients, supply chain and industry partners.

BIM is a strategic vehicle that will help us to consistently deliver best value. The assessment by BSI means that out operations, training and procedures all comply with recognised BIM standards.”

Brian Goldsmith, Client Manager at BSI, said: “Achieving BIM verification can bring huge benefits to all organisations involved in both public and private sector projects, as well as those in the supply chain, including cost savings and efficiencies through waste reduction and improved collaboration. Caledonian Modular should be proud that they have gained independent verification from BSI, meaning they are BIM Level 2 compliant in accordance with PAS 1192-2.
